Albers Summer Shirt

Josef Albers, an artist who pursued the interaction of color to its utmost limits. While tidying his room, designer Nishikawa came across several of Albers’ works among postcards he had collected in his teens, unaware of their creator at the time. Drawn anew to these works and inspired by them, the shirt is dyed twice, creating its distinctive coloration.

色彩の相互作用を極限まで追求したアーティスト、ヨゼフ・アルバース。デザイナー西川が部屋の片づけをしていたところ、十代の頃に作者も知らず集めていたポストカードの中から彼の作品をいくつか見つけた。改めて彼の作品に惹かれ、着想を得て、一着のシャツを二度染め分け、特徴的なカラーリングを生み出した。
