Summer Weave Knit

A hand-knitted summer sweater characterized by a dry, linen-like texture, achieved through a traditional Japanese technique in which cotton yarn is treated with paste derived from konjac root. Textile artist Anni Albers, together with her husband Josef Albers, elevated textiles distinguished by geometric patterns from decoration to art. In ensou.’s summer knit as well, geometric motifs are expressed by utilizing variations in sheerness created through changes in knitting techniques.

蒟蒻芋由来の糊で綿糸を加工する日本の伝統技法を用いた、麻のようにドライな風合いが特徴の手編みのサマーニット。テキスタイルアーティストのアニ・アルバースは夫ヨゼフ・アルバースと共に幾何学模様を特徴としたテキスタイルを装飾からアートに昇華させた。ensou.のサマーニットでも、編み方に変化をつけることで生まれる透け感の違いを利用し、幾何学模様を表現している。
