    東京出張に来る母とは、月に一度のペースで顔を合わせている。毎月会っているとはいえ、日々生活している環境があまりにかけ離れてしまったから、自分の近況を話しても、母は理解しているようなしていないような、笑顔だけれど曖昧な相槌だけ。そろそろ案が尽きるぞと思いながら、毎回振り絞って予約した飲食店の、メニュー表を前にあれも食べたいこれも食べたいと、それが唯一共通の話題で、実はその時が一番幸せかもしれないと思ったりする。
